Pastor Erik Hastings

Raised in the home of a Marine Corps officer, Pastor Hastings spent the majority of his childhood and teen years in Northern Virginia as his father was stationed in Quantico, and later worked for the Government in Washington, D.C.   It was during this time that Pastor Hastings faithfully attended Heritage Baptist Church in Woodbridge, Virginia with his parents.   After being confronted with the truth of the Gospel one Sunday, Pastor Hastings realized his need for Salvation and trusted Christ as his savior at the age of five.   He was called to preach during his senior year of High School at Heritage Christian School and then enrolled in Pensacola Christian College where he received his training for the ministry and met his wife, Heather.

Heather was born and raised in the Sandusky, Ohio area, and was saved at the age of sixteen.   After attending Massillon Baptist Bible College for one year, Heather transferred to Pensacola Christian College where she met Pastor Hastings.   The summer after graduating from college, Pastor and Heather were married and immediately began serving the Lord together.
The Lord led Pastor and Heather to Akron, Ohio where they served on the staff of The Millheim Baptist Church for almost five years before following God’s call on their life to move to Mechanicsville, Virginia to start a new, Bible-believing church.   There were no people, no salary, and no church building.   There was, however, the clear call of God and a decision to live by faith according to His will.   The church had its inaugural service on Easter Sunday, 2006, and Pastor Hastings has faithfully served here at Truth Baptist Church as the Senior Pastor ever since that time.   Pastor and Heather have also been blessed with four Children, Trent and Nicole, Brooke, and Johnny.

“I am thrilled that you have decided to visit our website today, and it is my sincere hope to meet you personally in the very near future.   The Bible makes it clear that God loves every one of us, including you!   I encourage you to visit a service here at Truth Baptist Church, and most importantly, I urge you to accept Jesus Christ as your savior today if you have never done so.”
